Sign in to submit

Submissions require a JoST account with a verified ORCID iD, so we can confirm authorship and attribute peer reviews. Signing in takes a minute, with no password.

You need to sign in

JoST does not accept anonymous submissions. After signing in, you'll be able to fill out the submission form, upload your manuscript, and confirm formatting.

Add your ORCID iD

Authors must have an ORCID iD attached to their JoST account. It's how JoST confirms authorship.

Submit a paper

Make a submission

Four steps. Required fields are marked.

1 · Metadata

About the paper

Tell us what this submission is — title, authors, abstract, and topic area.

Shown on the article card and at the top of the article page.

Order matters — list authors as they should appear on the published article. ORCID is optional but enables verification and review attribution. Add an email for each co-author so they get copies of the editors' decisions.

0 words · target 150–250

Answer a few yes or no questions. The site sets the paper's type from your answers, and the editors check it against the type's gate. See the six paper types.

Three to six keywords, comma-separated. Used for filtering on the home page and for related-article suggestions.

2 · Manuscript

Upload your manuscript

You MUST submit in the JoST format (see template). JoST needs both files. The Word file becomes the web-readable version of your paper; equations typed in LaTeX inside it (like $$E = mc^2$$) are typeset on the page. The PDF is the official download, published exactly as you upload it. When you choose your files, the site checks them against the template right away and tells you what to fix.

3 · Integrity and format

Confirm integrity and format

Before publication, two editors check every paper against these seven standards. Confirm each one. A paper that fails any of them is sent back.

1 · Originality

You attest that this work is original, that you are an author or have authorization from all authors, and that the work has not been previously published in substantially the same form.

All listed authors have read and approved this submission. Co-authorship disputes after submission are the responsibility of the submitting author.

3 · Open peer review
